On Sunday in worship, we stood and affirmed our faith using a portion of the Confession of Belhar. Written by the Dutch Reformed Mission Church in South Africa in the 1980’s, it is a clear “no” to the evils of apartheid, racism, and hatred. Monday evening was the fourth anniversary of those evils made manifest at Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston.
As Christians, together we continue to say “no” to racism and “yes” to the reconciling work of the Gospel. “…anything which threatens this unity may have no place in the church and must be resisted.” Amen.
Yours in Christ,
