FROM THE PASTOR
Grace and Peace to the Westminster Family!
I pray you are doing well and experiencing moments of love from the Lord and your neighbors every day as we continue to navigate these interesting times. I’d like to share a few highlights from the most recent meeting of the Session:
Resuming in-person worship on Sundays: We hoped to resume in-person Sunday worship by the end of June, but the growing number of C-19 cases in SC and Charleston in particular mean we are not yet ready to assume those risks. It would be great if we can be together again on Sundays in July, and we will continue to monitor the situation and make sound decisions. Please know we are disappointed along with you, and we will open for larger groups as soon as the way is clear for us to do so.
Other meetings and events: We’re starting to gather for some outdoor events (like beach days or neighborhood popsicles), but indoor gatherings (aside from Daily Prayer) are still postponed for the time being.
Livestream Updates: We’ve made some good upgrades to livestream worship. In addition to being able to worship via Facebook Live, you can now live stream the 11:00 service on the Westminster YouTube channel, and on our website, www.westminstercharleston.org The Daily Prayer Service is recorded Monday and available anytime on the Westminster YouTube channel.
Racial Justice Listening Group. Pastor Daniel and Pastor Lissa will be assembling a small group of people for a Racial Justice Listening Group. We’ll read and study and pray and make recommendations about how Westminster can grow in our awareness of and advocacy for those marginalized because of race. If you would like to be considered to be part of the group, please contact Pastor Daniel.
Friends, while we are still apart, the mission and ministry of the church is carrying on. Be on the lookout for ways YOU can be involved!
